High-Cannabidiol cannabis extracts can be used to treat epilepsy and other diseases

In 2013, there was a surge in media coverage about medicinal cannabis. There were reports from CBS, ABC, CBS, CBS and local publications that high-cannabidiol marijuana oil could effectively control the symptoms of rare epileptic disorders like Doose and Dravet, as well as infantile spasms, cortical Dysplasia and Doose. These diseases can cause hundreds to thousands of seizures a week, while also impairing development in a number of other ways. For families with children suffering from such conditions, the challenges are overwhelming. Due to the complexity of Dravet or related syndromes, traditional medications are ineffective and often make matters worse. Families are turning to high-CBD cannabis oil as a last resort. It has shown remarkable efficacy and is providing hope for many families.

To clarify, high CBD cannabis oil isn’t psychoactive and seems to be more beneficial that high-THC cannabis oils. Cannabidiol is another cannabinoid in the cannabis plant, like the more well-known psychoactive cannabinoid THC, with significant research suggesting neuroprotectant, anticancer, antidiabetic, anti-ischemic, antispasmodic, antipsychotic, and antibacterial properties, among others. Additionally, cannabis oil can be extracted from cannabis. Concentrated cannabinoids can be consumed orally rather than smoked. This preserves medicinal compounds and allows them more easily to reach the digestive system than the respiratory system.

CBD appears to have panacea-like effects, according to research. Sanjay Gupta published a CNN documentary about Charlotte Figi on August 11, 2013. Charlotte is a young Dravet syndrome patient who was having 300 grand mal seizures a week. This number cannot be reduced by any medications or diet. Charlotte’s seizures were stopped after Charlotte’s parents discovered high-CBD cannabis oil. Charlotte has now had a total of three minor seizures per week. This is an extraordinary case and not something that’s common. Dr. Margaret Gedde of Colorado Springs is monitoring 11 new clients of the Stanely Brothers, who provide Charlotte’s high CBD medicine. Nine patients have seen seizures drop by as much as 90%, which is just amazing.

The epileptic conditions that CBD is proving to be effective against are extremely complex, and not even the most powerful, well researched pharmaceuticals have been capable of inducing any healing. Yet high-CBD cannabis oil is immediately and potently reducing symptoms, with the only side effects being systemically beneficial – more energy, better learning, improved behavior, and more.

It shouldn’t surprise that such research has been ongoing for years. As research has shown cannabinoids to be effective in controlling epilepsy, so too is the evidence of their ability to control other serious diseases and eradicate cancers. The results for epilepsy, and other conditions, are being translated to the human body. Since the beginning, people have been successfully eliminating and mitigating cancers. This is a serious matter that requires more attention.
